Skuru Bridge nominated for Trafikverket's Architecture Award

Trafikverket (The Swedish Transport Administration)'s architecture prize is awarded every 2 years to an infrastructure project that distinguishes itself by combining form and function in the best way - and combines good architecture with sustainability and consideration of natural and cultural values:

"Trafikverkets arkitekturpris delas ut vartannat år, till en omsorgsfullt utformad och väl fungerande infrastrukturanläggning, som motsvarar höga krav på god arkitektur, hållbarhet och hänsyn till natur- och kulturvärden."

All nominated projects are also characterized by "not only wanting to solve a practical challenge", but also strive to add value to a local context and increase the users' experience of the everyday environment:

"De är alla genomarbetade kvalitativa anläggningar, som inte bara löser en uppgift utan också ger mervärden till lokalsamhället. (...) En medveten och kvalitativ arkitektur i transportsystemet har betydelse för människors upplevelse av vardagsmiljöer och resande i olika former."
